In my recent practice, I use color as an emotional response. I’m interested in the ephemeral nature happening in urban life. I aim to reveal the subtle encounter between natural and built environments, honing in on incidental moments and capturing their essence.

Sensitive to what is around me, I seek to find a poetic language in the often-overlooked details of urban atmospheres - frontage, parks & narrow gardens—inviting us to slow down and take notice. Alternating between controlled mark-making and blurred gestures, holding onto the after-thought, my painting are a reaction to the fleeting moments of temperature, seasonal changes in nature— the sweat, the humidity, the fogginess.

I work with thin layers of paint, gradually building them up and sanding them back down—constructing and deconstructing as I go. This process allows me to open up the surface of the painting, evoking a sense of time and nostalgia.
