Côté's recent practice emerged from questioning her works, both her paintings and ceramics. Rather than opposing each other, the two come together, communicate, and evolve together, creating new boundaries and alliances. Her work illustrates the power of color to evoke memories and elicit emotions.

Sensitive to the built environment, Côté captures the essence of incidental and common elements of everyday life and brings out the connections that exist between us and the spaces we inhabit. Rethinking the city in the form of paintings and ceramics, the artist invites us to explore the contours of our environment and to become aware of its richness and the diversity of our surroundings.

Carefully arranged to create a harmonious and dynamic synergy, the paintings and ceramics present different patterns, lines, and textures, revealing the various aspects of her practice and allowing Côté to play with the power of pigments and generate color variations that bring the gallery space to life.

The artist explores the relationship between the body and matter, between gesture and movement. Since childhood, the artist has developed a great sensitivity to the places and spaces she frequents, and this is evident in each of the works presented. The paintings and sculptures challenge, complement, and strengthen each other to create a cohesive whole. They invite us to slow down and pay attention to details and subtleties.

Côté's work is not limited to a simple aesthetic experience; it reflects a communion with the artist and their impact on the community. Montreal is the subject of particular reflection, and Côté questions the rapid changes taking place there and the threat of gentrification to the preservation of certain neighborhoods. Her work is a call to resistance and the preservation of our environmental and cultural heritage.
